This wouldn’t be the first time that the tech company has had to hire external help to finish efforts with its touchscreen. Synaptics is familiar with smartphones and has worked with a variety of developers for mobile devices. The order placed with Synaptics is said to be for use in the company’s rumored iPhone 7. This means that it’s possible the company’s own development team is falling behind in its touch and display driver integration chip efforts.
